Using the Automatic Diagnostics

The DTX Series testers helps you isolate cabling faults by
automatically diagnosing Autotest failures. For twisted pair
J
tests, press
Fault Info after a failed Autotest to see
information about the location and likely cause of the fault.
Chapter 6: Diagnosing Copper Cabling Faults
Avoiding Tester-Induced Failures
Some test failures can be avoided if the tester is properly
maintained and configured. To keep your tester in top
condition, follow these guidelines:
Keep the tester's software current. The latest software
is available on the Fluke Networks website. See page
14-2 for details on installing updates.
Set the reference for the twisted pair adapters every 30
days. See page 3-1 for details.
Run the self test before going to the job site. See page
1-24 for details.
Be sure to select the correct test standard and cable
type for the job.
Send the testers to a Fluke Networks service center
every 12 months for factory calibration.
