6. Install the access panel (Installing the access panel on page 25).
7. Install the server in the rack.
8. Connect each power cord to the server.
9. Connect each power cord to the power source.
10. Power up the server (Powering up the server on page 24).

backplane configuration
Prerequisites
The Smart Storage Battery must be installed in this orientation when the 10 SFF SAS/SATA/NVMe Combo
backplane is installed.
Procedure
1. Power down the server (Power down the server on page 24).
2. Remove all power:
a. Disconnect each power cord from the power source.
b. Disconnect each power cord from the server.
3. Do one of the following:
a. Extend the server from the rack (Extend the server from the rack on page 24).
b. Remove the server from the rack (Remove the server from the rack on page 25).
4. Remove the access panel (Remove the access panel on page 25).
5. Remove the right retainer. Set aside.
