1G-15 Fuel System:

Fuel Level Gauge Inspection

Inspect the fuel level gauge as follows:
1) Inspect the float (1) of the fuel gauge assembly
moves smoothly.
2) Inspect that the needle moves correctly as the float
of the fuel gauge assembly moves up and down as
shown in the illustration.

Throttle Cable Removal and Installation

Removal
1) Remove the front fender. Refer to "Exterior Parts
Removal and Installation in Section 9D (Page 9D-
3)".
2) Remove the throttle lever case. Refer to "Handlebars
Removal and Installation in Section 6B (Page 6B-3)".
3) Remove the throttle cable as shown in the throttle
cable routing diagram. Refer to "Throttle Cable
Routing Diagram in Section 1D (Page 1D-1)".
Installation
Install the throttle cable in the reverse order of removal.
Pay attention to the following points:
• Install the throttle cables as shown in the throttle cable
routing diagram. Refer to "Throttle Cable Routing
Diagram in Section 1D (Page 1D-1)".
• Check the throttle cable play and proper operation.

Throttle Cable Inspection

Check that throttle lever moves smoothly from full open
to full close. If it does not move smoothly, lubricate the
throttle cable.

Throttle Cable Play Inspection and Adjustment

Refer to "Throttle Cable Play Inspection and Adjustment
in Section 0B (Page 0B-13)".

Starter Cable Removal and Installation

Removal
1) Remove the front fender. Refer to "Exterior Parts
Removal and Installation in Section 9D (Page 9D-
3)".
2) Remove the left handlebar switch box. Refer to
"Handlebars Removal and Installation in Section 6B
(Page 6B-3)".
3) Remove the starter cable as shown in the throttle
cable routing diagram. Refer to "Throttle Cable
Routing Diagram in Section 1D (Page 1D-1)".
Installation
Install the starter cable in the reverse order of removal.
Pay attention to the following points:
• Install the starter cable as shown in the throttle cable
routing diagram. Refer to "Throttle Cable Routing
Diagram in Section 1D (Page 1D-1)".
• After installing, check the proper operation.

Starter Cable Inspection

Check that the starter knob moves smoothly from full
open to full close. If it does not smoothly, lubricate the
starter cable.
Starter Cable Play Inspection and Adjustment
Inspect and adjust the starter cable play "a" as follows.
Starter cable play "a"
0.5 – 1.0 mm (0.02 – 0.04 in)
1) Remove the rubber boot (1).
2) Loosen the lock-nut (2).
3) Move the starter cable back and forth and inspect
that there is correct amount of starter cable play "a".
If adjustment is necessary, turn the adjuster (3) in or
out to obtain the correct play.
4) Tighten the lock-nut securely while holding the
adjuster.
5) Reinstall the rubber boot firmly.
