Changing the IP Address of an iPULSE Radio
To change the address of an ENCOM iPULSE radio:
1. Select the appropriate radio in the
Address button. The Change IP Address form is displayed.
2. Enter the appropriate values in the IP address, Network mask and Gateway address fields,
and then click the OK button to save the new network settings to the radio. If you are not sure
what values to use, please contact your IT department for assistance.
Alternatively, you can use DHCP to assign an IP address to the radio. Select the Obtain an
IP address automatically option, and then click the OK button to save the network settings
to the radio. Note that this option only works if a DHCP server is active on your local network.
Using the DHCP option is not recommended for radios installed in the field. The IP address
assigned to the radio could change, or the DHCP server could fail and become unavailable.
Both of these issues could cause loss of connectivity with the radio.
3. While the IP address is being changed, a
Address, and the Status column indicates that the radio's network settings are being
updated.
