remote and repeater radios.
Data sent to the remote or repeater radios is not acknowledged. It is
therefore necessary to transmit the data several times in order to prevent
the loss of one packet from affecting the reliability of the system.
Recipients of a packet will ignore any duplicate packets, so there is no
danger of duplicate data being sent to the device connected to the radio.
The number of times that a repeater or remote will re-transmit a packet of
data if it does not receive an acknowledgement from the master.
Data sent from the remote or repeater radios is acknowledged by the
master, so there is no need to blindly retransmit it. When an
acknowledgement is received, the retries stop.
If enabled, a remote/repeater radio will attempt to find a master/repeater
radio that is using the same network address and security key that is
assigned to the remote/repeater. If found, the remote/repeater will
automatically switch its hop pattern and hopping interval to that of the
master/repeater.
If the connection is lost, the remote/repeater radio will automatically
search for a another master/repeater to connect to.
If disabled, the remote/repeater radio must be configured with the same
hop pattern and hopping interval as the master/repeater in order for a
connection to be established.
Description
ENCOM serial radios always power-up in data mode.
In this mode, data flows transparently through the radio's serial port or
FSK connector to the wireless interface.
When sleep mode is enabled, the radio will turn off most of its internal
circuitry to reduce its power consumption.
The following table lists the sleep mode options.
