2. TP Sensor Inspection
Check thai the TP sensor voltage incre ases
continuously when the throWe is moved to fully
closed position to fully open position, using the data
list menu of the HOS pocket tester.
Does the voltage increase continuously?
YES
- Intermittent fa ilure.
NO
- Faulty sensor unit (TP sensor).
3. TP Sensor Resistance Ins pection at PCM/ECM
Connector
Turn the ignition switch OFF.
Disconnect the PCMlECM 33P (Gray) connector [1].
Measure the resistance between the wire harness
side PCM/ECM 33P (Gray) connector terminals.
Connection : B2 - B3
TOOL :
Test probe

Standard: 1.0 - 3.0 kO (20°C/68°F)
Is the resistance within 1.0 - 3.0 kQ (20°C/68°F)'J
YES
- GO TO STEP 5.
NO
- GO TO STEP

4. TP Sensor Ground Line Open Circuit Inspection
Disconnect the sensor unit 5P (Black) connector [1].
Check for continuity between the wire harness side
sensor unit 5P (Black) connector 121 and PCMlECM
33P (Gray) connector 121lerminals.
Connection : B2 - Green/red
TOOL:
Test probe
Is there continuity?
YES
- GO TO STEP 5.

NO
- Open circuit in the Green/red wire.
5. TP Sensor Input Voltage Inspection
Disconnect
the
sensor unit SP (Black) connector (1].
Turn the ignition switch ON and engine stop switch

Measure the voltage between the wire harness side
sensor unit
SP
(Black) connector terminals.
Connection : Brown/white (+) - Green/red 1-)
Is the voltage within 4.75 - 5.25 V?
