5.14.4 Splitting a File Using Patch Codes

The separation function with patch code sheets is supported for a job sequence.
This function allows you to split a file in a specified unit of pages without stopping a scan
when scanning more than one document. A file is split in a specified unit of pages, and
consequently the scanned images are separated into each scanned document (unit of
pages that is split).
Notes for using patch codes to split a file are as follows:
1. Prepare for scanning.
 Prepare patch code sheets.
Two types of PDF files, A4 size and Letter size, are available for patch code
sheets.
Print as many PDF files as you need from the [Patch Code] folder within the
[Network Scanner] folder that is created when Admin Tool is installed.
To view the where PDF files are stored on Windows 7:
Select [Start] menu  [All programs]  [Network Scanner]  [Patch Code] 
[A4] or [Letter].
 Set a job sequence for splitting a file using patch codes.
Select [Patch Code] for [Separation Mode] under [Save] on the scan settings
window for the job sequence.
If you do not save the image of the patch code sheet, select the [Remove
separator] check box.
2. Scan documents.
Load documents with patch code sheets inserted into the points where documents
are to be separated.
3. After the scan is complete, check whether the scanned data file is split at
the correct points.
