(18) Image center does not
align with the original
center.
Causes
1. Misadjusted center line of image printing.
2. Misadjusted scanner center line.
3. Original placed incorrectly.
(19) Image contrast is
low (carrier scatter-
ing).
Causes
1. No developing bias output.
A. Developing bias wire makes poor contact.
B. The connector terminals of the high-voltage
transformer PCB make poor contact.
C. Defective main PCB.
D. Defective high-voltage transformer PCB.

Causes
1. Misadjusted center line of image printing.
2. Misadjusted scanner center line.
3. Original placed incorrectly.
Readjust the center line of image printing (see pages 1-6-9).
Readjust the scanner center line (see page 1-6-25).
Place the original correctly.
Causes
1. No developing bias output.
Check the developing bias wire. If there are any problems, replace it.
Reinsert the connector. Also check for continuity within the
connector cable. If none, remedy or replace the cable.
Check if CN6-10 on the main PCB goes low when maintenance item
U030 is run. If not, replace the main PCB.
Check if developing bias is output when there is no problem with the
main PCB while maintenance item U030 is run. If not, replace the
high-voltage transformer PCB.
