Notational Conventions

The following notational conventions are used in this document:
• Italics are used to highlight specific items in the general text, and to identify chapters
and sections in this and related documents.
• Bullets (•) indicate:
• action items
• lists of alternatives
• lists of required steps that are not necessarily sequential
• Sequential lists (those describing step-by-step procedures) appear as numbered lists.
Understanding Command Syntax
command / keyword The first word is always a command. Keywords are words that
<variable>
must be entered as is. Commands and keywords are mandatory.
For example, the command,
RFSwitch>show wlan 1
is documented as
show wlan <idx>
where:
• show – The command
• wlan – The keyword
Variables are described with a short description enclosed within
a '<' and a '>' pair.
For example, the command,
RFSwitch>show wlan 1
is documented as
show wlan <idx>
where:
• show – The command – Display information.
• wlan – The keyword – The wlan
• <idx> – The variable – WLAN Index value.
