6.1 Functions of the CU-4000
The optical communications unit CU-4000 has the following two functions:
(1)
The CU-4000 exchanges data and programs between the BHT-4000 and the host
computer. It interfaces with the BHT-4000 via the optical interface and with the
host computer via the RS-232C interface.
(2)
The CU-4000 charges the battery cartridge.
6.2 Components and Functions
• Optical Interface Port
Used to exchange data
optically with the BHT-
4000.
• Power Inlet Connector
Plug the AC adapter
into this connector.
• RS-232C Interface Port
Used to exchange data with the host
computer.
• BHT-4000 Detection Switch
Placing the BHT-4000 on the CU-4000
pushes down this switch, allowing
charging or data transmission.
• Power Switch
134
• BHT-4000 Charge
Terminal
Charges a battery
cartridge loaded in the
BHT-4000 when the
BHT-4000 is placed on
the CU-4000. (Do not
stain this terminal;
otherwise, the charg-
ing efficiency will
