If the ID code entry has been selected in the "Create File" mode, enter a desired ID code
(by bar code entry or keypad entry). Next, read bar codes or enter data from the
keypad according to the preset conditions.
When the BHT-4000 shifts to this "Collect Data" mode at the second use of this mode or
later, it becomes ready to accept data at the record area immediately following the last
record previously collected.
How to Collect Data
Supposing that a data file has been prepared in the "Create File" mode according to the
conditions listed below, the data collecting procedure is described below.
File number
ID code to be registered (from keypad)
Number of data items (Number of fields)
Data item A (bar code entry)
Data item B (keypad entry)
Number of entered records

Enter the ID code. If the ID code is 23, for
example, press 2 , 3 , and ENT keys.
Scan a bar code to be entered to data item
A.
If a CODE39 bar code whose value is
12345678 is read, for example, the value
appears on the LCD as shown at left, the
beeper beeps, and the reading confirmation
LED illuminates in green.
Then, the screen becomes ready to accept
data from the keypad for data item B.
