File Setting Conditions to be Registered
Enter the following conditions from the keypad according to the messages shown on
the LCD:
(1) File number
(2) ID-related conditions:
ID entry
ID entry method
Bar code type
EAN
ITF (Interleaved 2 of 5)
NW7 (CODABAR)
CODE39
CODE93
CODE128
MULTI (Multi-code reading)**

The number of digits should be within the range from 1 to 40.
Once the maximum number of digits for an item field is registered, any data exceeding it
cannot be entered in both keypad entry and bar code entry.
** To read EAN-13 or UPC-A bar codes when you have selected multi-code reading, it is
necessary to set at least 13 digits each for an ID-code field and data item field.
If you have selected multi-code reading, ITF bar codes having less than 4 digits cannot be
read.
Select a file number from 1 to 4 (PACK1.DAT
to PACK4.DAT).
Select Yes or No.
Select "Barcode & Key", "Barcode", or "Key".
Select a desired bar code type from the
seven types given below.
Universal product codes: EAN-13, EAN-8, UPC-A, and
UPC-E
- Select whether the check digit should be enabled or
disabled.
- Designate the minimum and maximum numbers of
digits for an ID-code field.*
- Select whether the check digit should be enabled or
disabled.
- Designate the minimum and maximum numbers of
digits for an ID-code field.*
- Select whether the check digit should be enabled or
disabled.
- Designate the minimum and maximum numbers of
digits for an ID-code field.*

All of the above 6 types of bar codes can be read.
