2.3.3 Adjusting the LCD Contrast & Beeper Volume,
and Displaying the Battery Voltage Level
You can adjust the LCD contrast and beeper volume or check the battery voltage level
on the LCD. While holding down the trigger switch, turn the PW key on, and the
following screen will appear on the LCD. This screen will disappear if no keys are
pressed for five seconds.
Adjusting the LCD Contrast
You can adjust the LCD brightness to eight contrast levels.
1) Use F5 and F7 keys to select the LcdContrast line.
2) To decrease the contrast, press F6 key; to increase it, press F8 key.
Adjusting the Beeper Volume
You can adjust the beeper volume to four levels from OFF to MAX.
1) Use F5 and F7 keys to select the BeeperVolume line.
2) To turn down the volume, press F6 key; to turn it up, press F8 key.
Displaying the Battery Voltage Level
You can check the battery voltage level by displaying the screen shown above.
When the remaining voltage level has decreased to only one quarter of the bar on
the LCD, it is recommended to charge or replace the battery cartridge.
(You can not only check the battery voltage level temporarily as described above
but also monitor it by a visible voltage level icon while the BHT-4000 is in opera-
tion. You may erase the icon by turning off the STATUS setting in System Mode.
Refer to Subsection 2.4.3, [4.2] Setting the message version and the system status
indication.)
After making the above setting, press the ENT key or press no keys for five seconds,
and the new setting will be set and the above screen will disappear.
