4. Remove and discard the steering gear boot.
1. Remove the steering gear. For additional
information, refer to Section 211-02 [Power
Steering].
2. N0TE:Make a note of the number of turns
used to remove the tie-rod end.

Remove the tie-rod end and the tie-rod end
locknut.
1. Remove the tie-rod end.
2. Remove the tie-rod end locknut.
5. Rotate the steering gear pinion to expose
the rack.
6. CAUTIONS:
