Appendix C: Safety Statements

CE Mark
The "CE" mark affixed to this equipment means that the unit complies with the 1999/5/EC
(R&TTE), 89/336/EEC (EMC), and 72/23EEC (LVD) Directives.
Declaration of Conformity
The Declaration of Conformity (DoC) for the G150 products is contained with in the CD
accompanying the products.

WARNING:
The G150 units are intended to be installed by 'Service Personnel' and it is the
WARNING:
responsibility of the Service Personnel to ensure that all subsidiary
interconnected equipment is wired correctly and also meet the safety
requirements of IEC60950 or UL60950 where applicable.

Lithium Batteries

A lithium battery is fitted to the real time clock on the G150 mother boards

WARNING:
The Lithium battery must only be replaced by Avaya personnel or authorized
WARNING:
representatives. There is a danger of explosion if the battery is incorrectly
replaced. Replace only with the same or equivalent type recommended by the
manufacturer. Dispose of used batteries according to the manufacturer's
instructions.

Lightning Protection/Hazard Symbols

The building's lightning protectors must be verified as follow:
Check the lightning protectors at the trunk cable entry point to the building housing the
G150, paying special attention to the lightning protection grounding. Report any problems,
in writing, to the telephone company.
Equipment that is designed to be connected using internal wiring is typically not lightning
protected. Hence, G150 extension cabling must not leave the building.
