Users and user permissions: The A850 support up to 100
users with different user permissions:
one root user which may configure the A850 hardware,
multiple administrator level users which may configure
the RTU network and give RTU access permissions to
ordinary users,
multiple ordinary users which may query and configure
only RTUs and sensors for which they have access
permissions.
Note: As default, only the root user is configured.
Dial-up networking and dynamic IP addresses: To support
A850 devices that do not have an official internet hostname
and IP address, the following features are supported:
dialling an ISP on given schedule, as callback after
dialling in and/or when notifications must be delivered,
updating dynamic DNS services, such as DynDNS (this
requires that the A850 gets an official IP address
accessible over the internet after connecting to an ISP. If
the A850 is installed in a private network behind a NAT
router, dynamic DNS is not guaranteed to work),
hiding the A850 behind an SSH server that is accessible
from the internet (the A850 can be reached through the
SSH server's address).
Note: For each of these services, a secondary (backup) connection
may be configured which is used when the primary connec-
tion fails.
RTU routing: The A850 support multiple alternative routes to
an ISM-based RTU. Switching between routes is done by
examining the usage period of the configured routes (if the
usage times of routes overlap, the route with the higher
prority is active).
Polling:
The A850 supports multiple polling priorities: all RTUs
with higher priority are served first, then all RTUs with
