REASSEMBLY AND REMOUI\ITING
Reassemble and remount the caliper in the reverse order of
removal and disassembly. Pay attention to the following points:
CAUTION:
*
Wash the caliper components with fresh brake fluid
before reassembly.
*
Never use cleaning solvent or gasoline to wash them.
*
Apply brake fluid to the caliper bore and piston to be
inserted into the bore.
*
Bleed air after reassembling the caliper. (Refer to page
2-15.)

MASTER CYLINDER REMOVAL AND
DISASSEMBLY
• Remove the right frame cover.
• Place a rag underneath the union bolt on the master cylinder
to catch spilled drops of brake fluid_ Unscrew the union bolt
and disconnect the brake hose off the master cylinder.
CAUTION:
Immediately and completely wipe off any brake fluid con­
tacting any parts of the motorcycle. The fluid reacts
chemically with paint, plastics and rubber materials, etc.
and will damage them severely.
• Remove the reservoir tank mounting bolt.
• Remove the push rod pin by removing the cotter pin_
NOTE:
If it is difficult to remove the push rod pin, remove the brake
pedal.
• Remove the master cylinder assembly by removing the two
mounting bolts.
