Saving a Routing Table

Saving a routing table stores the table either in a file or at the node(s) in the network. You can save
a single table or multiple routing tables to a file with the MRT. Saving routing tables to files allows
you to retain prior versions of routing tables or to archive them as backup.
Holding prior versions of a routing table provides a fallback table when you update a node's table.
The prior working version can be reloaded at the node if problems occur when using the newly
updated table.
To save a single routing table, perform the following steps:
1. Set the destination of this operation to the desired value, Ntwk or File (see Selecting the
2. Click on the identifier for the desired node in the Node Selection List.
3. Click on Save from the Table pull-down menu.
To save all routing tables loaded in the MRT, perform the following steps:
1. Set the destination of this operation to the desired value, Ntwk or File.
2. Click on Save All from the Table pull-down menu.

Printing

The MRT allows you to print the contents of a routing table or the contents of the System Status
Log to the system printer.
To print a routing table to the system printer, perform the following steps:
1. Click on the desired node identifier in the Node Selection List.
2. Click on Print Routing Table from the Table pull-down menu.
To print the contents of the Status Message Area, click on Print Status Log from the Table
pull-down menu. All the status messages from when the MRT was started are printed on the
system printer.

The selected node identifier in the Node Selection List changes to reverse video. The
routing table for the selected node appears in the Routing Table Editing Area.
The Status Message area shows Save Complete.
The Status Message area shows Operation Complete. n routing tables saved.

The node identifier is highlighted in inverse video and its routing table appears in the
Routing Table Editing Area.
The selected routing table will be printed on the system printer.
