Defining a 719 Channel Port for a Terminal or PC

You must define a channel port for the terminal or PC you are using to configure the
NETWORKER. Each channel port on the NETWORKER must be defined as follows:
Up to eight profiles and up to 64 channel groups can be defined for a 719 NETWORKER. The
order in which you complete these definitions does not matter, as long as both are defined and
assigned to the appropriate channels.
After you define the profile and assign it to a channel port, you must define a channel group for the
terminal or PC.

14) Event Log 2. This parameter contains the address of the 719 NETWORKER
channel port connected to the event port on the NMS host computer and a list indicating
the types of events to be sent as alerts.
The address must be in the form node number/group and is defined in option 1) Event
Log Group (on the Event Log menu).
Eight types of events can be sent to the NMS event port or to the event log printer. Each
type can be activated by selecting the number of its option. To activate the events from
the System Parameters List menu:
TYPE: 14
PRESS: Enter
The Event Log menu appears.
Selections 2 through 8 on the Event Log menu represent event types. When you select
one of these options, the event type is set to Active and a Y is displayed for that option
on the Event Log menu. For example, if 7) Call Status is activated for event log 2, the
Inactive would change to 101/12- - - - - - Y.
