Defining an SDL Profile

When a 719 NETWORKER is connected to one of the ports on a 6800 Series NMS and to an
ACCULINK multiplexer (see Figure 2-2), a supervisory data link (SDL) is required between the
719 NETWORKER and the ACCULINK multiplexer so that supervisory data information can be
passed between the two.
The SDL on the ACCULINK multiplexer should already be defined. If not, refer to Supervisory
Data Link (SDL) NAP to define the SDL NAP for an ACCULINK multiplexer.
To define a profile for the SDL on the 719 NETWORKER,
1. From the Configuration menu,

PRESS: Enter
Enter the desired password. The system asks you to repeat the password for verification.
Setting a password prevents unauthorized users from going into the control mode of the
719 NETWORKER.
a. TYPE: 2
PRESS: Enter
b. Add the appropriate dial sequences (node number/channel group number) within the
group restrictions.
If you do not allow any groups to dial in, then control mode is only available from the
719 NETWORKER's front panel CONTROL MODE button.
TYPE: S
PRESS: Enter
The system returns to the Configuration menu.
TYPE: 2
PRESS: Enter
The system displays the following prompt:
