Connecting a PC

Instead of a terminal, you can connect a PC to configure the 719 NETWORKER to communicate
with other multiplexers and the NMS host computer. However, a terminal emulator must be run on
the PC so that the PC can be used as an ASCII terminal. Two emulator programs are suggested: a
VT-100 terminal emulator (the other selection under SCX) and CTRM.
Make sure the following parameters are set on the PC:
You need an EIA RS-232 (DB-25) conductor cable to connect the PC to the 719 NETWORKER.

After the 444 appears, you have 15 seconds to press the
CONTROL MODE button and create a communication link (Step 5)
between the 719 NETWORKER and the terminal.
PRESS: CONTROL MODE
button on the front of the 719 NETWORKER. The system displays the following message
and prompt:
