Routing Table Information Area

The Routing Table Information area (see Figure 1-2) is located just below the Main Menu Bar.
This area displays information about a routing table being edited:

Node Selection List

The Node Selection List (see Figure 1-2) is located on the right side of the MRT Screen. This list
contains node identifiers for the routing tables currently loaded in the MRT Utility. A selected node
identifier is displayed in inverse video. Where a routing table has been edited, the node identifier is
displayed in bold.

Routing Table Editing Area

The Routing Table Editing Area (see Figure 1-2) is located below the Routing Table Information
Area and to the left of the Node Selection List. This area is the largest area of the MRT Screen and
displays information in column and row format. The number of rows depends on the number of
nodes in the routing table being edited. Each row is a routing table entry. The columns, from left to
right, are:

Status Message Area

The Status Message Area (see Figure 1-2) is located at the bottom of the MRT Screen below the
Routing Table Editing Area. It contains all messages generated by the MRT from its various
functions and operations. This list of messages can be scrolled by using the scroll bar at the right of
the area.

Using the MRT Utility

The following sections provide information and procedures on using the MRT Utility. They
describe how to access the utility, select the source or destination of a utility function, generate a
new routing table, edit a routing table or control its size, delete a table, save a table to a file or a
node, print a table, or obtain information about nodes and links in a table.

Current Node – the node identifier for the routing table currently being edited.
Links Used/Max – the current total number of link identifiers in the routing table and the
maximum number allowed. The current total number of link identifiers changes as the
routing table is modified and links are added or deleted.
Source/Dest – the current source or destination of the routing table being edited. The
possible values displayed in this field are Ntwk and File.
File – the name of the routing table file if the current source or destination is File.
Last Edited – the date the routing table file was last modified if the current source or
destination is File.
Dest Node – the destination node for the path from the current node.
– an indicator where, if the links in this row have been edited, an "*" is present.
Links – a comma-delimited list of link identifiers for reaching the destination node.
