Overview
This document describes information for the 3821Plus modems, 3821Plus/3825Plus Release 4.0 modems, and the
two 3610/3611 DBMs (ISDN and V.34), plus information on the Synchronous Data Compression feature in
support of the 3800Plus R3.0 release. These release notes also have been updated to include support for the
3600 R3.5 and 392x R3.1 device releases.
Although this document contains information on the V.34 DBM, this card
may not be available at the time of the release of this document. Please
contact your sales representative for more information.

  • Page 4 Call Test (ct) The Call Test (ct) command performs dial test for the 3600 Series R3.5 DSUs. This command can be scheduled and the destination for results can be specified. The input screen contains the following fields. Device This field specifies the device to be tested. Test Type This field indicates the kind of dial test to be performed.

  • Page 6 Change Options/Display Options (cho/dso) Commands The following changes and additions apply to both the Change Options (cho) and Display Options (dso) commands in support of 3821Plus modems. The SECURITY Configuration Set screen contains one new field: Callback security. The values are disable and enable.
  • Page 7 The Fallback Speeds Configuration Set screen for multiplexers contains selections for Port 1 through Port 6. The new selection set for FB1 rate (Kbps) is disable, 1.2, 2.4, 4.8, 7.2, 9.6, 12, 14.4, 16.8, 19.2, 2, 4, 8.4, 18, 32, 38.4, 48, 56, 28.8, 4.4, 9.2, 18.8, 21.6, 24.0, 26.4. The new selection set for FB2 rate (Kbps) is disable, 1.2, 2.4, 4.8, 7.2, 9.6, 12, 14.4, 16.8, 19.2, 2, 4, 8.4, 18, 4.4, 9.2, 18.8, 21.6, 24.0.

The DTE INTERFACE Configuration Set screen contains the new field Sync DTE rate. The values for this field are 128000, 115200, 112000, 96000, 76800, 72000, 64000, 57600, 56000, 48000, 38400, 28800, 19200, 14400, 9600, 4800, 2400, and 1200.
  • Page 9 Change SPID (chspid) The new Change SPID (chspid) command supports 3610/3611 DSUs. The following field appears on page 1 of the Change SPID input form. Device This field specifies the device whose SPID numbers are to be changed. Standard addressing format applies. The following fields appear on page 2 of the Change SPID input form.
  • Page 10 Change/Display Telephone Number (chtn/dstn) Commands This command was changed to support two local phone numbers for ISDN DBMs (ISDN DBM and DBM-I). The new fields are as follows: Local number 1 For the first local telephone number, this field accepts 36 characters with the same character set as the non-ISDN DBM single local number.

If the user is experiencing failure in the Broadcast Download process, turn off channel polling and increase the timeout interval (2 seconds is recommended) by performing the following steps: 1.
  • Page 15 A new field is valid, Special Functions with the option XLOOP, to support the 3610 and 3611 Release 3.3c DSUs. The feature SDC (Synchronous Data Compression) displays in the Installed Features field when the 3800Plus Release 3.0 is installed. The following Country Codes are supported in the Modem strapping field for 3821Plus/3825Plus modems.
