Consider the following limitations before configuring a portion of the T1 link to use ACAMI
encoding:

56K Serial Synchronous Time Slots

If the T1 aggregate link of a 740 is to transport one or more channel groups to 74x-56K node(s),
the time slots that will carry those channel groups must be configured on the physical links as
Serial Synchronous time slots. Framing loss integration time and alarm threshold time must also
be specified for these time slots.
The following commands are related to the T1 link interface hardware.
6800-A2-GB21-10
If you are changing the line encoding (Bit Stuffing) type from B8ZS to ACAMI, all channel
groups that use the Clear Channel attribute on the line must be idle before the change is
made. Therefore, you must break the connections of all such channel groups before
initiating this change. (Use the Channel Group Summary (cgs) command to see which
channel groups require the Clear Channel attribute.)
If you are changing the line encoding (Bit Stuffing) type from ZCS to ACAMI, all time slots
that will be ACAMI (either data or filler) must be idle before you can initiate this change.
Use the Time Slot Summary (tss) command to determine if the time slots are idle. If not, you
must use the Break Channel Group Connection (brcgc) command to deallocate the channel
group.
If the current line encoding type is ACAMI and you are increasing or decreasing the number
of time slots that will use ACAMI, the time slots being added or removed must be idle
before the change can be made. Use the Time Slot Summary (tss) command to show the
current state of the time slots. If the time slot is not idle, deallocate the channel group using
the Break Channel Group Connection (brcgc) command.
If a logical link on the T1 link contains both ACAMI and non-ACAMI time slots after the
change request, the request will not be accepted. Use the Logical Link Summary (lls)
command to verify this. To correct this situation, execute the Break Logical Link
Connection (brllc) command then reallocate the time slots on the logical link to be either all
ACAMI or not.
If the addition of ACAMI filler bytes causes the total amount of available bandwidth on the
link to drop to such a level that connected channel groups will be broken, this change will
not be accepted. (Use the Time Slot Summary (tss) command to verify the availability of the
time slots to be used for filler bytes.)
If the node does not have the enhanced CSU installed, the change will not be accepted. Run
the Hardware Module Summary (hms) command to check the CSU version level; it must be
version 3 to support ACAMI.
