Send e-Mail

Configure the settings for sending emails and the initial values for emails when using DirectScan.
Click [Send e-Mail] under [Linking with Server] to display the window.
[Enable] check box
Configure this setting to send emails.
The check box is cleared for the factory default setting.
If you select the check box, also set the following items.
SMTP Server
Set the server for sending and receiving emails.
The host name, FQDN, or IP address can be set for this item.
The space before or after the character string is ignored.
ATTENTION
Note that an IPv6 address is not supported.
HINT
When entering a host name, the DNS servers need to be set on the scanner.
Port Number
Depending on the setting for [Encryption], the initial value changes as follows:
● When [Encryption] is [Disabled], the initial value is "25".
● When [Encryption] is [TLS], the initial value is "465".
The factory default setting is "25".
Username
Set the user name used for connecting to the SMTP server. When user name and password
authentication is not being used, this does not need to be set.
The space before or after the character string is ignored.
HINT
If the user name contains characters that cannot be displayed on the touch screen of
the scanner (such as environment-dependent characters), the name may not display
correctly on the screen.
Password
Set the password used for connecting to the SMTP server. When user name and password
authentication is not being used, this does not need to be set.
Spaces before and after the character string are maintained.
