● Coated paper
● Carbon paper
● Photosensitive paper
● Perforated documents
● Documents that are not square or rectangular
● Very thin paper
● Photographs (photographic paper)
HINT
Documents that may not be scanned successfully can be scanned by using the Carrier Sheet.
Wrinkled, curled, or folded documents can also be scanned by smoothing out wrinkles, curls, or
folds on documents.

Documents That Must Not Be Scanned

The following types of documents must not be scanned:
● Paper-clipped or stapled documents
● Documents on which the ink is still wet
● Documents smaller than 50.8 × 50.8 mm (2 × 2 in.)
● Documents wider than 216 mm (8.5 in.)
● Documents other than paper/plastic card (such as fabric, metal foil and OHP film)
● Important documents such as certificates and cash vouchers which must not be damaged
ATTENTION
Since carbonless paper contains chemical substances that may harm the brake roller and rollers
for feeding documents (such as the pick roller), the scanner may fail.
