Item 5 of the Main Menu logs the user out and then prompts for the password.
Use this when leaving the console unattended but with the Fibre Channel
network still running.

Diagnostic Tools

Select 6 Diagnostic Tools from the Main Menu to access the Diagnostic Tools
menu. There are three automatic diagnosis, monitor as well as repair tools in
Diagnostic Tools.
The three diagnostic tools are:
Loop Down Detection - This tool determines if the network has not
come up within a certain period of time. The tool will try to isolate the
offending node and remove it from the network.
Continuous Primitive Detection - A very high rate of primitives can be
disruptive to the Fibre Channel network and are usually caused by a
malfunctioning node. This tool will determine if there is an excessive
rate of primitives, and if so, where they are coming from, and if enabled
to do so, it will try to isolate the malfunctioning node.
Init Frequency Detection - LIPs are a necessary part of initialization,
but excessive rates of LIPs are usually caused by a malfunctioning node.
As in the case of the Continuous Primitive Detection tool, this one will
determine if there is an excessive rate of LIPs, and if so, where they are
coming from, and if enabled to do so, it will try to isolate the
malfunctioning node.
These tools run in the HMM, thereby reducing the load on the management
station and network although they can be configured from both HMU as well
as the console. There are three options for each of these tools:
Disabled - The diagnostic tool is inactive.
Monitor - The diagnostic tool merely reports any abnormality it sees
and reports it back to the HMU SAN Management system for the
administrator to deal with.
Monitor & Repair - This option not only reports the problem, but also
tries repair the problem as noted above.
These control options are toggled in round-robin order. Typing 3 or 4 would
have a similar effect on the other two tools.

Starting Compaq Storage Hub 12 Operation

When finished configuring, end the HyperTerminal session. The Compaq
Storage Hub 12 hub will be running in normal operational mode.
