Description
HMU could not connect with the
IP address for the device you
wanted to add.
The communication path from
the console to the device has
been interrupted.
This message is informational.
Action
Click OK. Verify that the IP
address is correct.
If correct, verify that the
connection to the device has
been established by using the
Packet Internet Groper (PING)
command from the DOS prompt
to see if the device responds.
Enter: ping <IP Address>
Check for an inappropriate
timeout.
Contact Customer Service and
let them guide you through
serial interface diagnostics, if
necessary.
Start by checking the Ethernet
connection.
If it is firmly connected and the
network is up, try pinging the
device to see if it responds.
If the problem persists,
shutdown HMU and then restart
HMU.
If the problem still persists, reset
the device firmware with the
Reset button on the LED panel.
If none of these corrects the
problem, contact Customer
Service.
Click OK.
