Before Compaq Storage Hub 12 Management Utilities can communicate with
Compaq-managed devices, all devices must be properly configured,
connected, and powered up. Refer to the Compaq Storage Hub 12
Management Module installation instructions to configure the module for
management. Once the procedures have been completed, verify that the
hardware and software requirements (listed below) are met, and then perform
the HMU installation procedure
The following hardware is required to communicate with HMU:
At least one Compaq Storage Hub 12 hub with a module
A 32-bit PC capable of running Windows 95, Windows 98 or Windows
NT 4.0
An Ethernet connection from the management PC to the managed
device. This can be through an Ethernet hub or switch running 10
Base T
IMPORTANT: While it may be possible to run HMU on a system that is also a server, we
do not recommend that you do so; it is possible for the two applications to interfere with
each other. Run HMU on its own dedicated workstation.
