The discovery process can take several seconds, during which time the HMU
progress status indicator appears. It will indicate which device it is polling, so
if there is more than one, there will be changes in progress. It will normally
time out in 60 seconds, but if it appears to be taking too long, click on Cancel
to stop it. Wait at least 60 seconds before canceling. The first time HMU is
started, allow the system to time out, in order to get a better idea of how long
to wait in the future if a problem occurs.

The discovery process establishes communication links with the proxy master.
Other managed devices connected to the proxy master by Fibre Channel are
found automatically. The Device Name, Location, Contact, Serial Number,
and Device Count fields are filled in, but the Location and Contact fields will
be empty if not previously entered manually.
Once discovery is complete, the Update SAN View button (shown in the lower
area of the figure below) becomes active.
