Source/Destination Pairs

This window lists the devices that are talking to each other on the loop.
Devices that are communicating with each other are listed by AL_PAs. In
some cases it may appear that devices are talking to themselves. This is a
result of the use of "half-duplex" Opens to initiate conversations on the loop. If
a half-duplex Open is used, then the device initiating the conversation does not
place its address in the Open request. Consequently, the destination address
appears twice in the Open request. If devices use full-duplex Opens to initiate
conversations, then the actual source and destination addresses will appear in
this window.

Primitives

The third tab window of the Network Properties is shown in the figure
below. It is a count of the number of times each of the indicated Fibre Channel
primitives has been executed since HMU has been started or since the
appropriate reset button has been pressed. Counts can be reset globally well as
individually.
There are four primitives that can be disruptive if an aberrant device creates a
continuous stream. All three types of LIPs as well as the NOS/OLS primitives
can occur continuously; if they do, there is a problem somewhere in the
network. If the LED-like indicator to the left of any of these four items lights
up, it is a signal to begin an immediate search for the problem.
