The procedure below uses 1 for the network region number as an example but the procedure
applies for any network region number from 1 to 250. If the media gateway connects to the
S8400, S8500, or S8700-series Server through a C-LAN connection, the network region of the
C-LAN and the TG550 might or might not need to share the same network region. However, you
can assign a C-LAN to the same network region of a TGM550 and its IP phones so that traffic
within that region has a higher probability of registration through that C-LAN.
1. At the SAT prompt, type change ip-network-region 1.
The Communication Manager server displays the IP Network Region screen.

It is strongly recommended to use the defaults in the screen. However, for the

3. Press the Enter key indicated for your terminal type to submit the screen.
If this is an S8400, S8500, or S8700-series Server and the network region of the TGM550
(1 in this example) is different from that of media processor board(s) (TN2602AP or
TN2302BP) in the server's media gateways, you must interconnect the two regions.
