5 Upgrading/Downloading Software/Firmware: Setting Up the External TFTP Server (If Necessary)

Determine Which Upgrades Are Needed

Login to the Avaya P330 command line interface.
1.
At the P330-1(super)# prompt, type configure
2.
At the P330-1(configure)# prompt, type dir
3.
The list of software appears.
Check the version number of the EW_Archive file to see if it matches the Release Letter. If not,

you must upgrade the Cajun processor.
Type show image version to check the P330 software version.

At the P330-1(configure)# prompt, type session mgp
6.
At the MG-001-1(super)# prompt, type configure.
7.
At the MG-001-1(configure)# prompt, type show mg list_config.
8.
The list of software appears.
Check the FW vintage number of the G700 type to see if it matches the Release Letter. If not, you

must upgrade the G700 Media Gateway. Also check if the FW vintage is an A or B. This is the
software bank. If the list shows B, you will upgrade A. If the list shows A, you will upgrade B.
Refer to the output in Step 8 to check the vintage of the VOIP FW for slot v0 to see if it matches

the Release Letter. If not, you must also upgrade the G700 Media Gateway motherboard VoIP
module.
Check the FW vintages of the media modules: MM710, MM711, MM712, and/or MM760 to see
11.
if they match the FW vintages in the Release letter. If not, you must upgrade them.
