DCS+ Over ISDN-PRI Example

Figure 22 illustrates an S8300 in a DCS+ network over an ISDN-PRI connection, which can use the public
switched telephone network or a private tie-trunk network.
DEFINITY, IP600, and S8700 switches use TN464 circuit packs for T1 connections and TN767 circuit
packs for E1 connections.

The signaling group will be Group Type
h.323. You assign this signaling group to
trunk group(s) when administer the IP trunk
group(s). You may also assign a trunk
group to the signaling group on the
Signaling Group screen after that trunk
group is administered. This trunk group will
then exclusively handle incoming IP
network calls. The TRK GRP for channel
selection must be filled out for IP trunks to
work.
On Page 2 of the Signaling Group screen,
you must administer an Non-Call-
Associated Temporary Signaling
Connection (NCA TSC) extension for DCS
signaling. You must enter DCS in the Appl.
field.
The trunk group must an ISDN group type,
tie service type, and ip carrier medium. On
Page 2, you enable the trunk group for DCS
and assign DCS signaling to the D-channel.
You must establish that the local dial plan
will be included in a Uniform Dial Plan and
begin defining the UDP.
Define the UDP to match extensions with
remote phone numbers.
Define AAR analysis to determine which
node to send the call after UDP processing.
Define a gateway for network nodes if one
of the nodes uses IP and the other uses
ISDN-PRI.

must enter DCS in the Appl. field and, for
S8300, p in the Interface Link field.
