S8300 Media Server: Installing License Files

Upload Files Screen

If a new license or authentication file was already downloaded to the services laptop or another computer on
the network:
• In the main menu under Miscellaneous, click the Upload Files to Server (via browser)
link.
• Locate the license or authentication file on your computer or network, then click Load File. Files
are uploaded to the S8300 Media Server.

Download Files Screen

If a new license or authentication file resides at a particular URL on a web server:
• In the main menu under Miscellaneous, click the Download Files to Server (from web)
link.
• Specify the exact URL, then click Load File. Files are downloaded to the S8300 Media Server.
When the files are present on the server, continue your installation procedure:
• Use the Install License or Install Avaya Authentication screen to install the new license or
authentication files.
• You may also need to upgrade software for the S8300 Media Server. To determine if this is the
case, check your Release letter for the current release/vintage of the S8300. Then see "Determine
Which Upgrades Are Needed" on page 79.
If new software is needed, follow the instructions in "Upgrading the S8300 (If Serving as the TFTP
Server)" on page 58 and "Installing Software on the S8300" on page 59.
Upgrading the S8300 (If Serving as the TFTP
Server)
To use the S8300 as your TFTP server, you must first make the software available to the S8300 Media
Server. You can use the web interface of the S8300 to accomplish this task.
Transfer Files from a CD or Hard Drive
Begin
Login to the web interface of the S8300 Media Server.
1.
Choose Upload Files to Server under Miscellaneous on the left pane of the main menu.
2.
Locate the desired file (usually the newest.tar file available) with the Browse button
3.
Click Load File.
4.
When the files are successfully transferred, the status screen will be displayed that indicates that
the software has been copied to the S8300 Media server and is available for installation.
