Testing the Hour Meter
Electrical System: Testing the Electrical Components

The hour meter is located on the operator control panel.
1. Park the machine on a level surface and lower the cutting units. Make sure
the engine is off and the key switch is in the OFF position.
2. Record the wire connections at the hour meter for assembly purposes.
Disconnect the wire harness from the hour meter.
3. Connect the positive (+) terminal of a 12 VDC power source to the positive
terminal of the hour meter; refer to
4. Connect the negative (-) terminal of the 12 VDC power source to the other
terminal of the hour meter.
5. The hour meter should move a 1/10 of an hour in six (6) minutes.
6. Disconnect the voltage source from the hour meter and replace the hour
meter if necessary.
7. If the hour meter tests correctly and a circuit problem still exists, check the
wire harnesses; refer to
8. Connect the wire harness to the hour meter before returning the machine to
service.
