Adjusting Relief Valves

Hydraulic System: Adjustments
The mower manifold includes one or more adjustable relief valves. Use the
following procedure if adjusting to a relief valve is necessary.
Note: Do not remove the relief valve from the manifold for adjustment.
Never adjust the relief valve with the hydraulic system pressurized.
Hydraulic fluid may spray out of the valve with the cap off. Personal
injury may result. Always install the cap and tighten before
pressurizing the system.
1. Locate the desired relief valve on the mower manifold; refer to

2. Remove cap on relief valve with a hex wrench; refer to
3. To increase pressure setting, turn the adjustment socket on the valve in a
clockwise direction. A 1/8 turn on the socket will make a measurable change
in relief pressure.
4. To decrease pressure setting, turn the adjustment socket on the valve in a
counterclockwise direction. A 1/8 turn on the socket will make a measurable
change in relief pressure.
5. Install and tighten cap on relief valve.
6. Recheck relief pressure and readjust as needed.
