The jack is designed ex
clusively for jacking up the
vehicle at the jack tubes built
into eith er side of th e vehicle.
Use the jack only to lift th e ve
hicle during a w heel change.
N ever get beneath the vehicle
w hile it is supported by the
jack. Keep hands and feet
away from the area under the
lifted vehicle. A lw ays firm ly
set parking brake and block
w h eels before raising vehicle
with jack.
Do not disengage parking
brake w hile the veh icle is
raised. Be certain that the jack
is always vertical w hen in use,
especially on hills. A lw ays try
to use the jack on level sur
face. Be sure that the jack
arm is fully inserted in the
jack tube. Low er the vehicle
onto sufficient capacity
jackstands before w orking
under the vehicle.
C hanging W h eels
Move vehicle to a level area w hich
is a safe distance from the road
way.
1. Set parking brake and turn on
hazard w arning flasher.
2. M ove selector lever to position
" P " and turn off engine.
3. Prevent ve hicle from rolling
away by blocking w heels with
wheel ch ocks (not supplied with
vehicle) or sizable wood block
or stone. W hen changing a
wheel on a hill, place chocks
on the d ow nhill side blocking
both w heels of the other axle.
On a level road, place one
ch ock in front of and one be
hind the wheel that is d ia
gonally opposite to the wheel
being changed.
4. U nfold w rench, loosen but do
not yet rem ove the wheel bolts.
