6 Residual Engine Heat
Utilization
W ith the engine sw itched off, it is
possible to continue heating the
interior for a short w hile. The rear
passenger com partm ent air outlet
m ust be closed.
Air volum e and d istribution are
controlled autom atically.
To select:
Turn key in steering lock to posi­
tion 1 or 0 or rem ove key.
Press i;i»n button
(indicator lam p lights up).
This function selection w ill not
activate if the engine coolant
tem perature is below 1 22 °F
(5 0 °C ) or if the battery charge
level is insufficient.
To cancel:
• Press m n button
(indicator lam p goes out).
• Turn key in steering lock to
position 2.
The system w ill autom atically
shut off
• after approx. 30 m inutes,
• if the engine coolant te m p era ­
ture drops below 1 2 2 °F ( 5 0 ° C),
• if the battery voltage drops.
7 A ir R ecirculation
O utside air is not supplied to the
c a r's interior.
This m ode can be selected to
prevent annoying odors or dust
from entering the c a r's interior.
To select:
Press button
(indicator lam p lights up).
To cancel:
Press button
(indicator lam p goes out).
The system w ill autom atically
sw itch from re c irc ulated air to
fresh air if button OTfil is pressed
• after approx. 5 m inutes at
outside tem peratures below
approx. 4 0 ° F (5°C ),
• after approx. 20 m inutes, at
outside tem peratures above
approx. 4 0 ° F (5°C ).
If button o is pressed:
after approx. 5 m inutes.
Notes:
If the w indow s should fog up from
the inside, sw itch from recirculated
air back to fresh air.
At high outside tem peratures, the
system auto m a tica lly engages the
recirculated air m ode thereby
increasing the cooling capacity
perform ance, sw itching to partially
fresh air w ithin 20 m inutes.
