Fuel Reserve Warning Lamp
W ith the key in steering lock
position 2, the fuel reserve w arn ­
ing lam ps com e on and should go
out when the engine is running.
If the w arning lam ps do not go out
after starting the engine or if they
com e on w hile driving, it indicates
that the fuel level is down to the
reserve q uantity of approx. 3.3 gal
(12.5 liters).
O utside T em p eratu re Indicator
The tem perature sensor is located
in the front b um per area. Due to
its location, the sensor can be
affected by road or engine heat
during idling or slow driving. This
m eans that the accuracy of the
displayed tem perature can only be
verified by com parison to a th e r­
m om eter placed next to the sen­
sor, not by com parison to external
d isplays (e.g. bank signs etc.).
A daptation to am bient tem perature
takes place in steps and depends
on the prevailing driving c o n d i­
tions (stop-and-go or m oderate,
constant driving) and am ount of
tem perature change.

C oolant T em p eratu re Gauge
If the antifreeze m ixture is effec­
tive to - 2 2 °F (-3 0 °C ), the boiling
point of the coolant in the
pressurized cooling system of
your vehicle is approx. 2 6 6 ° F
(130°C ).
D uring severe operating co n ­
ditions and stop-and-go city
traffic, the coolant tem perature
m ay rise close to the red
m arking.
The engine should not be
operated with the coolant
tem perature in the red zone.
Warning!
Driving w hen your engine
is badly overheated can
cause som e fluids w hich
may have leaked into the
e n g in e com partm en t to
catch fire. You could be
seriously burned. Turn off
the eng in e and get out of
the car until it cools down.
Steam from an overheated
eng in e can cause serious
burns and can occur just
by opening th e engine
hood. Stay away from the
eng in e if you see or hear
steam com ing from it. Turn
o ff the engin e and do not
stand near th e car until it
cools down.
