A daptive D am ping System
(AD S)
D epending upon road surface
conditions, load, d riving style, ADS
w ill autom atically adjust the
optim al ride firm ness.
The indicator lam p com es on with
the key in steering lock position 2
and goes out w hen the engine is
running.
If the indicator lam p stays on after
the engine is running or com es on
w hile driving, then the system has
detected a m alfunction.
We recom m end that you visit an
authorized M ercedes-B enz dealer
as soon as possible to have the
system checked out.
Note:
If the battery was disconnected,
the indicator lam p w ill only go out
after the engine is started and the
steering wheel is turned from full
left to full right lock and returned
to the center position.

The sw itch is located in the center
console.
1 Firm dam ping program .
This setting should be used
for sporty driving.
D uring the setting for sporty
d riving the indicator lam p in the
sw itch lights up.
2 Soft dam ping program .
T his setting should be used for
regular driving.
