Engine Oils

Engine oils are sp ecifically tested
for their su itab ility in our engines.
Therefore, use only engine oils
recom m ended by M ercedes-Benz.
Inform ation on recom m ended
brands is available at your
authorized M ercedes-B enz dealer.
A ir C o nditioner R efrig erant
O zone-friendly H FC-134a refrige­
rant and special lubricating oil is
used in the air conditioner system .
Never use R-12 (CFC) or m ineral-
based lubricating oil, otherw ise
dam age to the system w ill occur.

Brake Fluid

D uring vehicle operation, the
boiling point of the brake fluid is
c ontinuously reduced through the
absorption of m oisture from the
atm osphere. U nder extrem ely hard
operating conditions, this m oisture
c ontent can lead to the form ation
of bubbles in the system thus re­
ducing the syste m 's efficiency.
The brake fluid m ust therefore be
replaced every two years, prefer­
a bly in the spring.
It is recom m ended to use only
brake fluid approved by M ercedes-
Benz. Your authorized M ercedes-
Benz dealer will provide you with
additional inform ation.

Prem ium U nleaded G asoline

Caution!
To m aintain the e n g in e 's d ura ­
bility and perform ance, prem ium
unleaded gasoline m ust be used.
If prem ium unleaded is not avail­
able and low octane fuel is used,
follow these precautions:
• have the fuel tank filled only
p artially with unleaded regular
and fill up with prem ium un­
leaded as soon as possible,
• avoid full throttle d riving and
abrupt acceleration,
• do not exceed an engine speed
of 3000 rpm, if the vehicle is
loaded with a light load such as
two persons and no luggage,
• do not exceed 2/3 of m axim um
accelerator pedal position, if the
vehicle is fu lly loaded or operat­
ing in m ountainous terrain.
