The tem perature selected w ith the
tem perature selector is reached as
q uickly as possible.
The tem perature selector should
be left at the desired tem perature
setting.
W ith the center air outlets open
and the system in heating m ode,
sw itch the outlets to n o n -h e a te d /
cooled air by pressing the blue
button (indicator lam p lights up).
W ith the center air outlets open
and the system in cooling m ode,
sw itch the outlets to n o n -h e a te d /
fresh air by pressing the red
button (indicator lam p lights up).
The system w ill not heat or cool
any q uicker by setting a higher or
lower tem perature.
The autom atic clim ate control only
operates with the engine running.
The autom atic clim ate control
rem oves co nsiderable m oisture
from the air during operation in the
cooling m ode. It is norm al for
w ater to drip on the ground
through ducts in the underbody.

The desired interior tem perature
can be selected separately for the
left and right side of the passenger
com partm ent.
A basic setting in the w hite field
of the selector is recom m ended,
and can be used for driving year
round.
T he selected tem perature can be
show n in the d isplay w indow (2) in
either ° F o r ° C .

T his is the norm al setting.
Air volum e and d istribution are
controlled autom atically.
To select:
Press E H ! button
(indicator lam p lights up)
To change se le ction:
Press O
, K 2 f l, E
l , E l or
P?1 button (indicator lam p of
selected button lights up). The
indicator lam p for haw button goes
out.
Note:
If the Autom atic C lim ate C ontrol is
in the '' D iagnosis M od e " , turn key
in steering lock to position 0 to
return it to its norm al operation.
5 D efrost
M axim um heated and auto­
m atically controlled am ount of air
is directed to the w indshield and
side w indow s.
As the engine coolant tem pera­
ture increases, the air volum e is
autom atically increased, thereby

defrosting as quickly as possible.
