Using Limit Testing
To Use Relative Limits
There may be times when you are interested in the shape of a
measurement trace, but not concerned with the absolute amplitude. For
example,
Figure 4-16 on page 4-31
shows limit lines created for tuning a
filter to a particular shape. If the shape is more important than the
amplitude, you can make the limit lines relative to the peak point of the
trace using the reference tracking function.
In this example, you would press
Reference Tracking
SCALE
Track Peak
. The limit lines are now relative to the peak point on the
measurement trace rather than set at an absolute amplitude.
