Keep the following in mind during mounting and electrical installation:
n
National regulations for power installations
n
Interference and noise immunity
n
Conditions of operation
n
Mounting attitude
The following components fulfill the requirements for IP54 (dust and splash-
proof protection).
n
Visual display unit (when properly installed)
n
Keyboard unit (when properly installed)

This unit fulfills the requirements for Class A according to EN 55022 and is
intended for operation in industrially zoned areas.
Protect your equipment from interference by observing the following rules and
recommendations.
Noise is mainly produced by capacitive and inductive coupling from electrical
conductors or from device inputs/outputs, such as:
n
Strong magnetic fields from transformers or electric motors
n
Relays, contactors and solenoid valves
n
High-frequency equipment, pulse equipment and stray magnetic fields from
switch-mode power supplies
n
Power lines and leads to the above equipment
n
Keep a minimum distance of 20 cm from the MC 422, CC 422 and its leads
to interfering equipment.
n
Keep a minimum distance of 10 cm from the MC 422, CC 422 and its leads
to cables that carry interference signals. For cables in metallic ducting,
adequate decoupling can be achieved by using a grounded separation
shield.
n
Shielding according to EN 50 178
n
Use potential compensating lines with 6 mm
n
Use only genuine HEIDENHAIN cables, connectors and couplings
