POSSIBLE MALFUNCTION
Insufficient or improper air
supply or adjustment.
Fuel nozzle orifice is too
large.
Fuel pressure is too high.
Combustion chamber loaded
or restricted with unburned
fuel and / or soot.
Inadequate water supply.
Water inlet hose is kinked.
Check all plumbing
connections.
Restriction of water flow
through heater, which causes
over pressurization.
Check for scale buildup in
heat exchanger coil.
Water inlet pressure is too
high.
Water output temperature is
too high. Excessive heat can
cause over pressure situation
Defective pressure relief
valve or valve being left open.
Adjust accordingly to the procedures
listed in Maintenance every 3 months.
Replace with correct nozzle.
Check fuel pump discharge pressure.
Contact REEVES EMS.
Entire burner and fuel system needs
cleaning and servicing.
Contact REEVES EMS.
Ensure hose is 1 ½" dia. and
incoming water supply is turned on.
Remove kink.
Tighten or repair as necessary.
Remove or repair restriction.
Check quality of incoming water
supply.
Remove and inspect inlet screen for
blockage.
Contact REEVES EMS for de-scaling
procedures.
Incoming water pressure can not
exceed 125 PSI.
Check temperature control or setting.
Replace pressure relief valve.
(NOTE: NEVER run heater without
the Pressure Relief Valve – may
cause an explosion).
