CLUTCH SWITCH
Disconnect the clutch switch wires from the switch.
Check the continuity between the switch terminals.
There should be continuity with the clutch lever
applied and no continuity with the lever released.
OIL PRESSURE SWITCH
WARNING CIRCUIT TEST
Do an oil pressure check (page 2-4).
Turn the ignition switch on; the oil pressure warning
light should come on.
If the warning light does not come on, turn the
ignition switch OFF and disconnect the oil pressure
switch wire. Turn the ignition switch ON and
ground the wire terminal to the engine. The warning
light should come on.
If the warning light comes on, replace the oil pres-
su re sw itch.
If the warning light does not come on, check the
fuse, indicator bulb and wire connections.
Replace or repair as necessary.
Start the engine. The warning light should go off.
If the warning light stays on, check the oil pressure
and replace the oil pressure switch if oil pressure is
normal.
Apply liquid sealant to the switch threads.
Install and tighten the switch.
TORQUE: 15-20 N·m (1.5-2.0 kg-m, 11-14 ft-Ib)
CAUTION
Be careful not to overtighten the switch to
prevent damaging the threads of the engine
cover_
Connect the switch wire to the switch.
I nstall the rubber cover onto the switch.
