IGNITION SYSTEM
TRANSISTORIZED IGNITION SYSTEM
PULSE GENERATOR TEST
Disconnect the pulse generator coupler and measure
the coil resistance.
RESISTANCE: 315-385

2,4
cylinders: Between white and blue leads
1,3 cylinders: Between white and yellow leads
NOTE:

Measure while the engine is cald.
Check the continuity between each lead and ground.
There should be no continuity.
PULSE GENERATOR REPLACEMENT
Remove the right crankcase cover. (page 7-12).
Remove the pulse generator mounting bolts and
remove the pulse generators.
Install new pulse generators, aligning the pin on
the pulse generator with the hole in the crankcase.
Install the right crankcase cover.
Check the ignition timing.
CAUTION
Be careful not to damage the pick-up on the
starter clutch outer.
