CLUTCH
Check the clutch fluid reservoir level.
If the level nears the lower level mark, fill the
reservoir with DOT-3 or 4 BRAKE FLUID until the
level is between the upper and lower level marks.
Check the entire system for leaks, if the level is low.
CAUTION
Do not remove the cover until the handle-
bar has been turned so that the reservoir
is level.
A void operating the clutch lever with the
cap removed. Fluid will squirt out if the
lever is pulled.
Do not mix different types offluid, as they
are not compatible.
SIDE STAND
Check the rubber pad for deterioration or wear. If
wear extends to the wear line, replace the pad.
Check the side stand spring for damage and loss of
tension.
Check the side stand for damage and freedom of
movement.
Make sure the force required to hold up the side
stand is within
3.0-5.0
kg
(6.6-11.0
Ib) when pull-
ing with a spring scale.
Lubricate the side stand pivot.
SUSPENSION
Do not ride a vehicle with faulty suspension.
Loose, worn or damaged suspension parts
impair vehicle stability and control.
FRONT
Check the action of the front forks by compressing
them several times.
Check the entire fork assembly for the leaks or
damage.
Replace damaged components which cannot be
repaired.
Tighten all nuts and bolts.
