Step
Initial setting
Do the following checks show a problem?
1
• Sensor Low Paper (PL17.4.7) installation
• Lever Low Paper (PL17.4.9) installation
2 Does the error occur even when paper is added?
Sensor Low Paper (PL17.4.7) check
3 Use the Sensor Low Paper diagnosis tool to carry out a Digital Input Test.
Is the Sensor Low Paper functioning normally?
Lever Low Paper (PL17.4.9)

Does the Lever Low Paper move smoothly?
Power supply to Sensor Low Paper (PL17.4.7)
1. Disconnect the P/J83 connector from the PWBA Feeder (PL17.4.1).

2. Measure the voltage between P83-8 <=> P83-9.
Is there 3.3V DC between P83-8 <=> P83-9?
Harness Assy Feeder 3T (PL17.4.4) continuity
1. Disconnect the P/J83 connector from the PWBA Feeder (PL17.4.1).
2. Disconnect the P/J833 connector from the Sensor Low Paper Tray 3 (PL17.4.7).
3. Check the continuity between the following lines.

J83-8 <=> J833-3
J83-9 <=> J833-2
J83-10 <=> J833-1
Is there continuity in all lines between J83 <=> J833?
Sensor Low Paper (PL17.4.7) sensor signal check
1. Disconnect the P/J140 connector from the PWBA MCU & HVPS (PL15.1.2).
2. Close the I/L Switch of the PWB Drive (PL15.1.15).

3. While operating the Lever Low Paper (PL17.4.9) manually, measure the following voltage.
P/J83-10 <=> P/J83-9
Is the voltage between P/J83-10 <=> P/J83-9 +3.3V DC at the low paper condition, and
0V DC when the lever is released?
Troubleshooting
Check
Level 2 FIP –Large Capacity Paper Unit–
Treatment
Yes
Reinstall applicable parts. Go to step 2.
• With the tool: Go to step 3.
End of procedure
• Without the tool: Go to step 4.
Replace the PWBA MCU &
Go to step 4.
HVPS. (Refer to Ch4-4.2.18.1)
Replace the Lever Low Paper
Go to step 5.
(PL17.4.9).
Go to step 6. Go to step 10.
Replace the Harness Assy
Go to step 7.
Feeder 3T (PL17.4.4).
Replace the Sensor Low Paper
Go to step 8.
(PL17.4.7).
